Touch typing is an essential life-skill. Children who learn to accurately type without looking at their fingers will save time when producing homework, when finishing exams and later on in life these students will benefit at university level and in the work place.

At Touch Typing for Kids we can teach your child the skills they need to succeed. We are based in Finchley and offer courses face-to-face in small interactive groups.

About the course

As experienced Specialist Teachers who have been delivering this course for the past 17 years, we are able to effectively differentiate and individualise touch typing challenges so that all students achieve their potential. Multi-sensory learning through games and incentives, creates a brilliantly fun atmosphere in which students, aged 7 through to 17 years can thrive!

We specialise in helping children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia and hyper-mobility. We also pride ourselves in being able to inspire those scholars and academic high-achievers, who are looking to increase their speed and knowledge of the keyboard. Our testimonials speak of children literally loving the courses, to the extent that they return for follow-up courses, bringing their siblings and friends and feeling proud of their touch-typing achievements!

Advanced and returning students benefit from note-taking, dictation, punctuation skills and real typing under timed conditions. For those students who need to improve in accuracy and speed in time for their 11 plus, GCSE and A Level exams, we differentiate their goals and set them individual challenges. Seeing their accuracy and output improve over the course is thrilling for these students who appreciate the expertise with which they can navigate the keys and the time-saving skill of learning to touch-type!
